option 1: After investigating the types of outcomes of cognitive alterations, research facilities or institutions that accept patients with severe alterations in arousal, such as a persistent vegetative state or locked-in syndrome. Discuss your findings.

Option 2: Research one of the three most common post-traumatic brain syndromes. Examine management guidelines, evidence-based prevention activities, typical outcomes, and the latency period for the appearance of symptoms. Discuss your findings.

Choose one question from below and discuss in depth.
option 1: Your patient has just been diagnosed with SIADH. His mother is asking you what this condition is and what she should expect next. What will you tell her?
OR
option 2: Your patient has been admitted to the hospital in preparation for a total removal of her thyroid gland to reverse her hyperthyroidism. She suddenly develops thyroid storm. What manifestations will you find, and what is the pathophysiologic basis of thyroid storm? What is done to correct the situation?
