Briefly describe the phenomenon of interest and the problem you identified that provided the foundation for your project idea. How did you realize there was a problem? Did you speak to administration, staff/coworkers, patients, or experience the problem first-hand? Is this a problem in the unit/system or a problem or more broadly (i.e. statewide or national issue)?
Sometimes it is difficult for students to differentiate the problem from the phenomenon of interest. How are you distinguishing these concepts? In what ways are you struggling to develop these sections?
Being able to grab your reader’s attention is very important. Yet, the identification of the phenomenon and problem should be well understood by the reader in order for her/him to understand the proposed plan to alleviate the problem or address the phenomenon. Discuss with your peers and faculty for help in strengthening these vital components of your Preliminary Project Plan Proposal
