Aim of assessment The aim of this assessment task is to enable students to develop an understanding of how culture, ethnicity and diversity are linked to the social determinants of health and the provision of health care. Details This assessment task requires the completion of two (2) case studies. Students need to choose a different cultural group within Australia for each case study and, in the construction of each case study, they are to consider and address the following: Briefly discuss the social determinants of health as they apply to the identified cultural groups Describe health related risk factors for people from the identified cultural groups Critically discuss strategies in place for the provision of health care to address the identified risk factors Based on available evidence and your understanding of the critical health issues among the identified cultural groups, suggest possible strategies and recommendations to address deficits Present a coherent summary that identifies similarities and differences between the two case studies.
