Writing prompt: Gulliver’s Travels was originally written as a satirical criticism of how England ruled over its people and colonies. Through the four different parts of the novel, Lemuel Gulliver travels to a variety of different lands with different people, different rulers, different leaders, and different customers. Swift uses these differences to get his political message across to his readers. Using strong examples (direct quotes) from each of the four parts of the novel, critically examine the ideas of leadership and rulership within each section of the novel.
