In March 2009, The Honourable Kevin Rudd MP signed an agreement outlining the action to be taken by the Australian Government and complementary action to be taken by State/Territory governments to address the gap in health outcomes experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Contained in the document are a list of objectives, outcomes, and outputs; along with performance based benchmarks and indicators. The document is attached (national_partnership.pdf) What the document does not contain is specific information regarding exactly how these expected outcomes, outputs, and indicators would be met. For example, what would a program look like that would result in a reduction in early mortality? Your assignment is imagine that you are working in a government health service and you have been asked to write a brief report for a district CEO outlining the details of an evidence based program that your service will implement to address at least one of the expected outcomes contained in the document. The report should be no more than 1,500 words (not including references) and written in clear language that can be understood by a lay person. The report should contain, at a minimum, the following information: -The expected health outcome that is being addressed -A clear rationale as to why it is important to target this specific expected health outcome -Details of an evidence based specific intervention program designed to meet the outcomes -If no such program exists, then you may have to design a program -How you propose to assess the effectiveness of the program -The outcomes need to be able to be measured so that the CEO can report back to the State/Territory government and clearly state we have reached our target as evidenced by . -The role and importance of health psychology input into administering and running the intervention program.
