Who should be responsible for teaching children about morals and values, about character and ethics? Should it be the responsibility of the school? How can a school determine what values should be taught? For example, should schools focus on family values, religious values or community values or some other set of values (or a combination)? How can a school determine what character traits are desirable in children (e.g., honesty, integrity, caring about others, etc.)? Research the issue from philosophical, historical and social sources. Write a paper in which you expound upon your findings. You can take any side of the argument (the school should or should not be responsible for teaching these subjects and/or which subjects should be focused on), but your paper should not just be your opinion.
