Explain how the American Dream which is seen as Capitalism in the play is at the core of Willy Loman’s downfall as opposed to his interpretation of success, his personal choices, and what elicits being “liked” by other people. In other words…How much did Willy’s character play a role in his failure… his suicide, his mistress, his son’s knowledge of his mistress, his denial of reality…and Willy’s family enabling each other’s delusions.
