The Informal Language Inventory is a quick way to measure students’ growth in conversational oral language development. 1) Administer the assessment (see page numbers below) and analyze the results to identify instructional areas of need. 2) Once you have identified an instructional area of need, create a lesson (use the NMHU Lesson Plan Template in the syllabus) that supports the student’s language development. 3) Write a reflection that outlines what you learned and how your understanding of oral language development has shifted. All three documents (the assessment, the lesson plan, and the reflection) must be uploaded in order to receive full credit.
